Going for second at 2nd's Restaurant

The Signage of 2nd's Restaurant.

On a rainy mid-morning Sunday, we decided to have lunch at the Bonifacio Global City. We decided to have a nice lunch at the 2nd's Restaurant. Right next door to the Agave Mexican Restaurant, on the second floor of Quadrant 3, Bonifacio Highstreet, 9th Avenue, Global City, Taguig. A very homey and comfortable place to bring guests and balikbayans for good Filipino Comfort food.

SeaBass Sinigang

Sea Bass Sinigang- The sour tamarind soup made with Sea Bass was very soft and was loved by my niece. Served with a small bowl of rice and a stick of garlic bread. It was very good. who could have thought that adding an expensive fish such as the melt-in-your mouth Chilean Sea Bass in Sinigang. It was lovely!

Bacon Chicharon

Bacon Chicharon -  sounds deadly but it looks delicious. It was pretty good but it does taste better. With the bacon, it came with two types of sauces/ dips a spiced vinegar and the "muscovado" mustard. Dipped my bacon strip in both sauce and I think that the Muscovado mustard tasted better and goes better than the spiced vinegar.

Tilapia with Thai Red Curry

Tilapia with Thai Red Curry - Being someone who happens to like curry, I can't resist when I see any type of curry in any menu. I decided to try their Tilapia with Thai Red Curry. The fish fillet was fresh and delicious. It really went well with the Red Curry. The spiciness was just right... Good with beer too.
Roast Beef Raclette Sandwich

Roast Beef Raclette Sandwich-  an open faced roast beef sandwich with thin slices of roast beef , caramelized onions and topped with raclette cheese. It was pretty good for my taste. Came with their "home fries" and horse raddish and grainy mustard dips and toppings for the sandwich. It was all good even the fries were enjoyable too.

Beef Adobo

Beef Adobo - This was an absolute delight. Thinking of Filipino Comfort food, adobo would be on top of my list. One of the best adobo's that I have ever tasted. Not the usual adobo taste of salty and sour. It had a different approach to the usual adobo that we all know and love. It had roasted garlic cloves served in a casuela and green mango achara. Beef ribs cooked to perfection that was falling off the bone. Very delectable rich sauce and flavor.

As the namesake of the restaurant say's 2nd's we did get 2 orders of the adobo and 2 more orders of rice. I would say it is a coincidence!

2nd's is located at 2/F, Quadrant 3, Bonifacio Highstreet, 9th Avenue, Global City, Taguig. Call 8465293 for reservations.

A quaint new resto.... The Sauceria

Last Sunday, May 22nd, we celebrated my parents wedding anniversary at a quaint little restaurant along Boni Serrano Ave in Q.C. It was called The Sauceria.Owned by a dubbing director, the restaurant was spacious and inviting. You can even have meetings held there. They were on their soft opening last week and the staff were pretty much fine with the food orders and service, since my family and I were the only people in the resto. Their menu written on a clear glass panel hanging on the wall (sorry no photo of main menu, it was not able to register on the camera) had a variety of Asian and European food. They had Japanese curries, pastas, and sandwiches.

Private Room for small events or meetings.

Spacious main dining area.

Some of the food that we ordered though needed just a little twitching in flavor and presentation. But all in all it was good. Food price are very affordable. You will spend about 350 to 400 PHP per person.
